With Great Power...

"You have to learn to walk before you can run", not sure who said it first but we've all heard it at least once. And we've all heard "with great power comes great responsibility", (and no it wasn't Uncle Ben who said it first) but that's where everyone remembers it from, so I will go along.

Just saw the new Spider-Man movie from Marvel and I have to say it is the best Spider-Man movie so far. I've seen all of them and I can assure you that if you decide to watch Spider-Man: Homecoming, you won't regret it. Although, I will add that so far the best hero movie of 2017 is Wonder Woman, just saying.

Going back to that first quote, it reminds me of the film and if you haven't seen it, then I wouldn't continue reading. You see, in this movie we see a Peter Parker who just came back from fighting along with Iron Man against Captain America in the Civil War. He just got an upgrade to his suit and he is still testing his abilities. You can imagine how it would feel to go and fight with the big and cool guys and then come home to normality. It's like playing in the big leagues and then you get bumped down to the minors. (I don't know what that is like but I bet its just an awful feeling).

But I do know the kind of feeling when a door, a great opportunity, opens up for you and then the next thing you know, the door gets slammed in your face. WHAM! It brings a lot of questions and you feel you have to proof yourself. That is exactly what Peter Parker felt and wanted to do. Show Iron Man, the world, and ultimately, himself, what he was capable of doing: Save the world. But Peter wasn't ready. He was just learning how to walk.

Eye opener this film was, because you see, sometimes we want to rush things. You might find yourself in high school and you just can't wait to be done with it and go to college. Or you're in college and can't wait to be out in the real world. Or you're single and you just can't wait to be married. Whatever chapter in your life you find yourself in, slow down. Stop and just walk. Don't try to jog or run through the days and years and miss out the todays in your life. Not only will you wake up one day and not know where time went but you will make mistakes because you rushed things. You wanted to grow up so bad or make money or be married that you will take the wrong turn.

All those things are not bad, just like Peter that wanted to save the world, had great ideas, passion, and motives but while trying to save the day, he just made one mess after another and Iron Man had to come and clean it up for him.

So, enjoy this stage of your life, whatever it may be. Make the same decision that Peter Parker made at the end of the film.
