Worshipping when you less feel like it

Worshipping when you less feel like it

Have you ever gone through a difficult time and reading the Bible, praying, worshipping or going to church is the last thing on your mind?

I have. And it makes it harder when you have one thing after another going against you. You start to question if God even deserves to be worshipped. You can't understand why He is letting you go through that difficult situation and all you can do is be mad at Him.

You don't feel like praying, because that is talking to Him. When you' re mad at someone, you do not talk to that person, right?! Reading the Bible is not an option since you feel like He will rebuke you. Singing to someone is because you love that person, so worshipping is not something that you want to do, because you feel that you have lost your love towards God. Going to church is for communion, but you do not want to hear people tell you how sorry they are and that everything will be better and just trust God. You already know all this things, but you just don't want to be reminded, because this means that you are doing something wrong, you are sinning against God.

If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.
— James 4:17

Believe me when I say, I have been here more than once. But I am learning that when we least want to worship Him is when we are ought to do it more. See, your victory is behind that worship. You are surrendering to God when you raise your hand. You are telling Him that even though you do not feel like worshipping Him, you are still doing it, because you know He deserves to be worshiped at all times.

Last week, my sister suffered a major car accident. The last four years have been difficult for my family. It has been mainly me, but of course the entire family suffers together. We thought, that just maybe, this year would start being better. And just a few days after thinking this, I got the call that my sister was injured.

We are now praying for a fast recovery. Praise God she did't brake any bones. She is in a lot of pain and we hope there are no damages to her head, but we won't know until we have an MRI. Things are not looking so good right now regarding the insurance. But we are worshipping Him through this trial and I encourage you to do so too.

The devil thought he could he could brings us down, but God will use this to turn it into something good. So Praise Him!

So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.
— 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 The Message
