Black on a Summer Day

The color of these shoes that I bought from Andrea, are like my high school alma matter color. Which of course reminds me of school and can't wait for the new school year to start.

Have you ever wondered what teachers do during the summer? We don't just travel or sit down and do nothing over our summer break.

This past week, I had the opportunity to go with a couple of my fellow teachers and AP's to the AVID Summer Institute in Dallas. It was a well worth three day training of AVID strategies. I love my summer break, but I love getting new inspiration ideas that will help me get my students engaged and let me know with a certainty that they are learning. I cannot wait for this coming year and start using what I learned.

This picture below shows you a One Pager over an article that we read. One of the teachers shared with our group how she uses emojis and hashtags with her students to show the characters emotions. I know my students will love to use this. The best part is that you can use it in any content area; all you have to do is get a little creative.

So now lets talk about the shoes....

I know it is summer and I have heard more than a dozen times that you shouldn't wear black. Who says you can't? Why?

I say you can wear black clothing on a summer day, but with a pop of color. That is why these yellow Andrea shoes are the perfect combination for my black dress. They are so comfortable and they look amazing!

So do not hesitate next time you want to wear a black dress. Just do not forget to add a pop of color either with your shoes, purse or belt.

***This is a Spence black lace dress that I purchased it at Ross, last year.
